This later model of the Obsidian scout class mech's is equipped with the latest in long-range weaponry, it holsters twin long range 15-mm cannons that will deal a fair amount of damage to any enemy armoured vehicle in it's range. The Gauss cannons, however, are devastatingly aggressive and will tear the battlefield itself apart! and to top it all off, this mech is exclusive to the prototype laser technology that is mounted just above the main cannons.

If it's a scout, then shouldn't it focus on speed and electronics instead of heavy weaponry? This thing could be an heavy or assault 'mech.

It has State of the art stealth systems that allow it to Cloak under rough conditions, and it's not as big as it may seem ,so it is kinda a scout.

Eh... I still don't think that. I'd say it'd do well as an Abusher, maybe a skirmisher, but other then that? Speed and special recon electronics are more viable to the scout 'mech. Smaller frame to. That also means lighter weaponry and armor, but this is traded off by a great amount of speed, maybe some jump-capabilities and electronics.

Eugh. I think you're missing the point.
From where I'm from in the mech community scouts normally have the following:

Light Armor,
Light Weapons,
Not that experienced pilots or some very skilled pilots,
Extreme speed,
Sometimes they have jump-jets,
Rely mostly on information gathering,
Don't have Gauss cannons unless they were designed for fire-support sniping role.

Just thought I would experiment, no need to get technical.

I'm very technical.
Though your machine does look quite forbodding, I'm pretty sure it's a monster up close with those cannons; though, the rounds might not have enough speed to puncture my mechs armor if it's that close up. Same with those gauss cannons.

At longer ranges? Might be able to kill my mech.
